Plain-English terms
To keep things readable, here's what the words mean throughout this policy:
- You - anyone who visits gnomelabz.com or sends us an email about a project.
- We / Us / Gnome Labz - Gnome Labz LLC, a small studio based in Texarkana, TX.
- The Site - gnomelabz.com and any sub-pages.
- Personal Data - anything that identifies you (name, email, IP address, etc.).
01
Who we are
Gnome Labz LLC is a creative development studio based in Texarkana, Texas. We design and build websites, storefronts, and platforms for small and growing businesses. We're a workshop, not a corporation - when you email us, a real human reads it.
02
What we collect
We collect only what we need to do the work and keep the site running:
- What you give us directly: name, business name, email, phone number, website, project details, and your answer to "How did you hear about us?" (including who referred you, if you tell us). Payment info is handled by Stripe, and we never see your full card number.
- Where your visit came from (only when you send a form): our contact form and free check-up form also send us the first page you landed on this visit, the page you sent the form from, the website that linked you here (just its name, like google.com), and any tag on the link you followed (like
?ref=fb, or Google's?gclid=ad click code). This tells us which pages and links actually bring in inquiries. - What your browser tells us: pages visited, the website that linked you, browser and device type, and country, counted by Cloudflare Web Analytics without cookies. Like any web host, Cloudflare also sees your IP address so it can deliver pages and block attacks.
- Browser storage: small notes that remember your cart, that you've seen the cookie notice, and where this visit came from. No tracking or ad cookies. See our cookie policy for the full list.
What we don't collect: your social security number, your home address (unless you give it for delivery), or any biometric data. We don't run third-party trackers we don't control.
03
How we use your information
We use what you share to:
- Reply to your inquiry, write a build plan, and price the work.
- Process payments (via Stripe) for builds you commission.
- Send you build updates and invoices.
- Understand which pages are useful and which pages and links bring in inquiries (cookie-free visit counts, plus the source details sent with your form).
- Comply with legal obligations (tax records, business registration).
04
Who we share it with
We share data with the smallest number of providers possible, and only what's strictly required for them to do their job:
- Stripe - payment processing.
- Resend - transactional email delivery.
- Cloudflare - site hosting, CDN, security, the contact form, and cookie-free visit counts.
- Government / law enforcement - only when legally required (subpoena, court order). We will tell you unless we are legally prevented from doing so.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. We have never run an ad re-targeting pixel and we don't plan to.
05
How long we keep it
Different data has different lifespans:
- Inquiry emails: 24 months, then archived.
- Active project files: for the duration of the build + 12 months of post-launch support.
- Invoices and payment records: 7 years (US tax requirement).
06
Your rights
You can email us at any time and ask us to:
- Show you what data we have about you.
- Correct anything that's wrong.
- Delete your data (within legal limits - invoices we have to keep for tax).
- Stop using your data for marketing.
- Hand your data over to another provider (data portability).
We respond to every privacy request within 24 business hours.
07
Cookies
Gnome Labz doesn't set any cookies of its own, and we don't use tracking or ad cookies. The site keeps a few small notes in your browser: your cart and where this visit came from (both cleared when you close the tab), plus that you've seen the cookie notice. Our visit counter, Cloudflare Web Analytics, works without cookies. Stripe sets its own cookies on the checkout page. Full breakdown is in our cookie policy.
08
Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect your information: HTTPS on every page, strict browser security rules, card payments handled entirely by Stripe, and minimal data collection. The site has no customer accounts, so there are no passwords of yours for us to store. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your data the way we'd want ours treated. If a breach affects your data, we will tell you within 72 hours of finding out.
09
Children
Gnome Labz is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, email contact@gnomelabz.com and we will delete it.
10
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices or the law changes. We update the Last revised date at the top whenever we do. Substantive changes (anything affecting how we share or use your data) will be announced by email to active partners.
